Fall Vignettes: Morning Coffee
This week, the weather in New York finally changed for the better. After a seemingly endless Indian summer with intermittent bouts of rain and clouds, the skies have cleared and the temperatures have dropped.
So, when October finally starts to feel like fall outside, Laura and I opt for a later brunch and spend Sunday mornings on our stoop.
Few things are quite as relaxing on a sleepy weekend morning than sitting in the crisp, cool fall air. We sit and sip on French presses of Stumptown coffee and snack on pastries while digging through the Sunday New York Times and people watching on our street.
Of course, we’re joined by our little dog, Iggy Pop, a Brussels Griffon, who we let wander around the steps and the surrounding sidewalk. We like to say people watching is one of our activities, but we find that more often than not, it’s actually passersby doing Iggy-watching.
