The Bar Room at The Modern
Like a lot of art-loving New Yorkers, one of my favorite places in the city is the Museum of Modern Art. I’ve been in love ever since my first visit as a small child and owe my appreciation for art to my family, who dutiful took me to galleries and museums since before I could even walk.
When the time came this week to celebrate a monumental and joyous family event, I knew of nowhere better than MoMA’s restaurant, The Modern.
My aunts traveled from Montana to New York this week to get married in our great state, after a 37 year partnership. Two of their good friends from Denver joined in on the occasion, so I got to attend two lovely wedding ceremonies at the City Clerk’s office on Thursday.
The next night we all convened at the Bar Room at The Modern to celebrate the occasion.
We enjoyed many artfully-prepared plates of food, great cocktails and two excellent bottles of wine that our own personal sommelier Ryan selected for us. The food, company and ambience was grand—I can’t imagine a better place to celebrate two wonderful weddings.
