Our Memorial Day Weekend
On Monday, after a restful weekend that included horses, the beach, a new bike, and pizza from the famous Di Fara, among other things, we took the L train across the river to Brooklyn, where our friends were hosting a “Not” GoogaMooga Memorial Day party.
Our friends Kate, Eli and Max—who you might know from our massive feast at Roberta’s last year and their Chrismukkah party back in December—have a roof deck with amazing views of Manhattan, perfect for a barbecue.
The day started out swelteringly hot, but as the sun fell in the sky, a cooling breeze began to blow and we fired up the grill, loading it with flank steak, burgers, veggies and more. I couldn’t have imagined a better setting for the weekend.
P.S. Max and Eli’s new book, This Is A Cookbook: Recipes for Real Life, is coming out this fall and judging from the photos we’ve seen, it’s going to be awesome.
