Finally, on Saturday, the real reason we came to Los Angeles arrived: to see my dear friend from college, Jon, marry his beautiful fiancée (now wife, of course) Meredith.
Jon and I hit it off immediately when we met back in college and one of my fondest memories of our friendship was our road trip together to my family’s house in Santa Fe, N.M., several years ago. Shortly thereafter, Jon moved to sunny California but we’ve always remained in touch, so I was thrilled to make plans to attend his wedding.
Ryan and I laid low on Saturday morning (minus a quick trip to Fred Segal for last-minute accessories) before heading out Jon and Meredith’s early afternoon ceremony.
After the ceremony, the reception was held at the beautiful Calamigos Equestrian at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, a venue where I’ve actually competed several times. I loved reuniting with old friends and meeting some new ones in the process.
Congratulations again, Jon and Meredith! Thank you for inviting us and we wish you all the best together. We hope to see you in New York very soon.
P.S. As you can see, Jon and Mer are huge fans of the Los Angeles Kings, so we also must congratulate the Kings on their Stanley Cup win, despite a disappointing loss on Saturday!
