We’re a couple living in Manhattan’s East Village (formerly West Village) with our small dog, Iggy Pop. Even though we’re both originally from Texas, we met randomly in New York and instantly bonded over mutual loves of art, travel, New York, food, and style, among other things.
After forgetting so many of the things we’ve shared with each other, we realized we needed a place to permanently document our memories and thus, after much talk, this blog was born. We also wanted a place where our family across the country and friends, both new and old, could see what we’re up to. Since starting our site, we’ve been featured on multiple national blogs and publications. For a few of our favorites, click here.
All photos are taken by us. Up until recently, we shot with a a Canon EOS 5D and three lenses, all Canon: a 17-40mm f/4 L, a 70-200mm f/4 L, and a 50mm f/1.8. If you’re shopping for a new lens for a Canon system, we’re particularly partial to the 17-40mm for its versatility and quality.
In April 2013, we made the switch to a Fuji X-E1, a smaller, more portable rangefinder-styled camera, paired with Fujifilm 35mm f/1.4 lens. We’ve been very happy with it and would recommend it to almost anyone.
When we’re not busy blogging, Laura works as a contributing digital producer for Condé Nast Traveler and Ryan works for a Michelin-starred restaurant in Manhattan.
If you have any more questions for us, or just want to say hi, feel free—we’re quite friendly and we would probably love to meet you!
